What is a Match Maker?

We call ourselves Match Makers because we are helping customers find the best king cakes they have ever and never had!

Customer service is the most important piece of what we do.  We are blessed with some of the nicest customers a hospitality worker will ever encounter.  It’s a fun place!  We sell cake and a great assortment of locally made crafts, costumes and Mardi Gras need its!

Can you imagine choosing from all those cakes with no one to help guide you?  Some already know what they want and all you have to do is point so they can grab it first.  Others need a little more guidance.  With up to 100 cakes to choose from Match Makers keep customers from being overwhelmed and make sure they leave with something they will love. 

We ask questions like:

Who are they serving?

What’s their favorite or a cake that they really liked? 

Fillings?

Dislikes matter too.

Any allergies?

Are they adventurous and looking for something new and different or looking for a classic crowd pleaser?

We then offer a few selections along with a description.  My team of veteran Match Makers will train you and load you up so you can talk about every cake we carry.  There will also be plenty of opportunities to sample and further your king cake education. 

Match Makers also help with the daily restock. 

Our cakes arrive fresh every morning.  This means 20-30 bakeries all arriving in the same short window to deliver and fill the shelves with fresh cakes.  Match Makers need to be able to bend, stand, lift and carry stacks and boxes of cakes.  Arriving on time and ready to get to work is critical.  Load in is crazy, but fun.  It’s our time to work with and learn from our bakers as we work together to fill the shelves.  We also restock shelves all day long!

After customers select their cakes, Match Makers ring up the orders using a POS system and thank our awesome customers! 

Finally, we clean up and get set to do it all again, everyday until Mardi Gras!

Pay is strong.  Looking for people with availability between 7am-6:30pm.  All positions are seasonal with last day of operation on Feb 16th this year and we offer part-time and full time hours.  Weekend, deep gras and parade day availability is a must as is a love of all things Carnival!  We will train on cakes and other merchandise.
